Michael J. Gelb is the world’s leading authority on the application of genius thinking to personal and organizational development. He works with visionary leaders around the world to support them in nurturing more innovative and human-centered cultures and to inspire and equip them with the creative thinking tools and conscious communication strategies that help translate ideals into reality. Michael’s clients include Bosch, Emerson, Hillmann Consulting, Merck, Nuveen, Unilever and YPO.

Michael co-directed the acclaimed Leading Innovation Seminar at the Darden Graduate School of Business for more than 10 years and also teaches for the London Business School, The Institute for Management Studies and is a Professor of Practice in Creativity & Innovation at Shiv Nadar University in India.

The author of 16 books including How to Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci, Discover Your Genius, Innovate Like Edison and his most recent release The Art of Connection: 7 Relationship Building Skills Every Leader Needs Now, Michael’s books have been translated into 25 languages and have sold more than one million copies.

A contemporary Renaissance man, Michael is a former professional juggler who performed with the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. He introduced the idea of teaching juggling as a means to promote accelerated learning and team-building and is the author of The 5 Keys to High Performance: Juggling Your Way to Success.

A fifth degree black belt in the Japanese martial art of Aikido, Michael is co-author with International Grandmaster Raymond Keene, of Samurai Chess: Mastering Strategic Thinking Through the Martial Art of the Mind. He is also a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, (the method taught at The Juilliard School for cultivating commanding stage presence), and the author of the classic work: Body Learning: An Introduction to the Alexander Technique. Michael’s 1988 release Present Yourself! Captivate Your Audience with Great Presentation Skills guides readers to develop the communication strategies they need to generate support for their innovative ideas.

A passionate lover of wine, Michael has created a unique approach to team building as expressed in his 2010 release: Wine Drinking for Inspired Thinking: Uncork Your Creative Juices. 

Michael is also gifted teacher of Tai Chi and Qigong and is the originator of the acclaimed Super Qi Summit at The Omega Institute.

In 1999, he was honored as “Brain Of the Year” by the Brain Trust Charity – Other recipients include Steven Hawking, Garry Kasparov and Edward De Bono. In 2003 he received a Batten Fellowship in Innovation from The University of Virginia.
